Convention Sketchbook 2015 for rAge Expo

I'll be at rAge Expo 2015 and I've just finished illustrating the cover art for my first convention sketchbook.
The book will be available exclusively at my table at rAge Expo 2015 , after which I'll make any books that are left over available online.

At 64 pages, the sketchbook will collect a range of my work from the last two or so years, including all my recent ACEO art cards and sketchcards.
These will all be reproduced at full size, so I think it's a handy little collection for those who cant afford the originals.
Also included are double page spreads of the line art for my battle scenes, some of my old, but favorite life drawings and a few process pages.
The sketchbook will be a limited edition of 100 copies only, numbered and signed, of course.

Up top is a preview of the Teela and Criger cover art, which is now available on my Etsy store here:

I'm just finishing off the dtp for the book now - check it out!

Come look for my table at the Legion Ink Artist's Alley on 9, 10 and 11 October at the Coca Cola Dome, Johannesburg!
See you there!

Glyph Comics Awards 2015

So it was a surprise this week when it was announced that One Nation: Safe House won the fan award for the best work at the Glyph Comics Awards 2015.

I was very fortunate to be the penciller on the team that created this unique short comic for 133 Art's One Nation comic series. Thank you, Jason Reeves for giving me this opportunity, which pretty much gave me the confidence I needed at the time to kick started my own personal path down the road of making comics full time.

Congratulations to the Jason Reeves and the One Nation team, not only for the fan award, but also for grabbing the Rising Star Award for a second year in a row!

One Nation is the brain child of Jason Reeves and I see a bright future for this unique superhero comic!

Icon By The Sea

I am on my way back from Vancouver after an amazing holiday and Comic Con trip!
Megan and I visited Emerald City Comicon in Seattle, and then we also went to  Vancouver Fan Expo! It was an amazing trip, and as my first big con, I only have good things to say about Emerald City! Travel to the con and accommodation is easy to arrange and if you want to meet friendly artists and comic industry pro's, Emerald City is definitely the way to go! I can't wait to go again!

As I land back in Durban, it'll pretty much be time to head to Icon by the Sea, hosted by The Unseen Shoppe.

Icon by the Sea is a three day event from 10 to 12 April at Durban North College.

David Covas Lourenco and I will be there selling and promoting our comics, Tomica and Gofu, as well as selling prints and original art. I'm taking my drawing table with and I'll be set up all three days, drawing Tomica and Gofu, so come have a look!
I might also be doing sketch commissions on the spot, so if you're interested in that, keep an eye on my twitter and facebook for prices closer to the end of the week.
See you at Icon by the Sea!
